Well my father went yesterday in the boat, and 50% of the herring have now spawned, so its time to take some of the bigger holed nets out, and replace them with smaller 2 inch mesh nylon nets. The spent herring are obviously smaller, so will swim through the standard 2.25 inch mono nets
