Ada Yonath, winner of the 2009 Nobel Prize for Chemistry and director of the Kimmelman Center for Biomolecular Structure and Assembly at the Weizmann Institute of Science, gave the keynote address at the Department of Chemistry diploma ceremony on May 20, 2018. Dr. Yonath, who received an honorary Doctor of Science and Technology degree at the main Commencement ceremony earlier that day, was a postdoctoral researcher at CMU in 1969.
