Today’s teaching was shared live from our home studio due to weather conditions—but the message is exactly where it needs to be.

In 2 Samuel 5:13–25, we see something both comforting and challenging:
God establishes David as king even while David is still flawed. Scripture does not hide David’s failures, nor does it pause God’s purposes because of them. Instead, we see a powerful truth unfold—God works through imperfect people who keep seeking Him.

This passage shows us three key moments in David’s reign:

God establishing David even while he is still getting things wrong

God confirming David’s calling through victory and direction

God requiring David to trust Him again when the strategy changes

David does not assume, rush, or rely on past success. Each time, he inquires of the Lord. And that posture—seeking God first—is what keeps David aligned with God’s will.

We also reflect on how God confirms His work today, how He redirects without abandoning the destination, and why obedience matters more than simply being “right.”
