Makes 12

12 slices of baguette loaf, toasted

For the filling
8 basil leaves
A small bunch of chives
100g mascarpone
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

10 strawberries, sliced

For the dressing
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
3 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp honey
½ lemon, zest

Lengths of chives, to garnish

Layer the toasted crostini out on a board or large platter.
Chop the chives finely tear the basil leaves.
Spread mascarpone onto the toasted crostini and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
Sprinkle over the chopped chives and add the torn basil leaves on top.
Arrange the strawberry slices on top.
To make the dressing, pour balsamic vinegar, oil and honey together in a bowl and whisk well.
Spoon some dressing over the crostini, grate lemon zest on top and garnish with lengths of chives.
Serve immediately.
