The score for the 1984 movie of Dune by David Lynch is a fantastic piece of work, mainly by David Paich of Toto, but also featuring Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois. There are some absolutely gorgeous pieces on the soundtrack - especially Leto's Theme, and Prophecy Theme. I've chosen to cover here the 'Main Titles' - heard just after the superbly atmospheric Prologue. Curiously enough Hans Zimmer has said that he never listened to the score from the 1984 movie before working on his version for Villeneuve's film. The similarity of some of the chord changes are striking. It's fascinating how the book can evoke a sense of harmony that was picked up on by both composers.

I loved putting it together, I just couldn't resist it after hearing those amazing chord changes. Here's what hardware I used ... all played live.
