Pakistan News: Balochistan CM Speaks After Deadly Militants Crackdown | Pakistan Balochistan News

Pakistan’s security forces have killed 145 militants within 40 hours following a series of coordinated attacks across Balochistan, marking one of the deadliest flare-ups in years, according to the province’s Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti. Speaking at a press conference in Quetta, Bugti said the deaths included militants killed during raids on Friday and Saturday, as well as those eliminated in ongoing clearance operations.

The Pakistani military had earlier confirmed that 92 militants were killed on Saturday alone, with the overall toll now rising sharply. Bugti said this was the highest number of militants killed in such a short span since the insurgency escalated, though he did not provide comparative data.

He also confirmed that the violence claimed the lives of 17 law enforcement personnel and 31 civilians. The attacks highlight the continued threat posed by separatist militant groups in the resource-rich province bordering Iran and Afghanistan, where insurgents have intensified attacks on security forces, civilians, and infrastructure.

Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest and poorest province, has witnessed a decades-long insurgency, driven by demands for greater autonomy and a larger share of natural resources.
