The Sharan forest is located at a distance of 220KM from Islamabad. We started our journey in the Morning of Friday around 2.30am on 14th Aug 2020 and reached Balakot VIA Khanpur Dam, Haripur, Abbotabad , Mansehra, Balakot and finally reached Paras village. As the locals told us that there is no arrangements of lunch and dinner in Sharan Forest so you will have to take along with you. We bought necessary food items from Paras bazar and started our Journey to Paras.

After reaching Paras you have three option, you can hire 4 x 4 Jeeps in Rs.3000 to 4000 for 5 to 6 person for Sharan Forests if you don’t have a motorbike as the rough off road road to Sharan forest is only accessible by 4X4 jeeps or motorbikes.2nd you can travel like local Jeep Per passenger cost Rs.300.

The KPK tourism Department has established camping pods equipped with Solar Panels. The interior has vinyl floors, decent wooden beds, blankets, nice walls, a couple of stools for sitting, a small desk, and a mirror fixed on the wall. The rent of two-bed camping POD is @PKR3000/night and 4 bed @PKR5000/night in peak season and half-price in offseason. The good quality fabricated toilets are also established by KPK tourism department and they are also equipped with Solar panels and Instant Geyser with GAS cylinders are attached with every Toilet for Warm water. After an adventurous journey of 2Hrs from Paras, we reached the camping site of Sharan Forest
