Season 3, Episode 05: "Incident of the Slave Master" A wife shoots the Confederate prison commander because her husband, a Union soldier, went missing following the War Between the States. She found the former warden because she thinks her husband is still alive. He tries to calm her down by saying he let all of his prisoners out. Gil, the trail boss who fought for the South, steps in between the angry woman and the reptilian jailer who became a rich cotton farmer, but then Gil's drovers find the woman dead.

Eric Fleming and Clint Eastwood feature in the American Western TV show Rawhide. From January 9, 1959, to September 3, 1965, the show aired on CBS on Friday nights. It then moved to Tuesday nights for its eighth and final season, which ran from September 14, 1965, to December 7, 1965. There were a total of 217 black-and-white episodes. Charles Marquis Warren, who also produced the first episodes of Gunsmoke, made and sometimes directed the series. Many people remember the show for its theme tune, "Rawhide."
