What’s up, fam?! I have a quick recipe and video for you today: southern style smothered green peas with potatoes, all in a silky, delicious gravy achieved through slow cooking in a Dutch oven! That was a mouthful, but you will be eating many mouthfuls of these green peas and potatoes after you try this recipe. Of that I’m sure!! So I’ll show you how I slice and simmer the potatoes and onions in a rich stock we achieved through using better than bouillon chicken flavor! Once the potatoes and onions have softened up a bit after slow simmering, I’ll show you how to use frozen green peas to get the creamiest finished dish ever. You don’t even need to worry about finding fresh peas. This is also a very affordable meal that will feed lots of people and will stick to your bones!! INGREDIENTS
- 2 lb frozen green peas
- 2 medium potatoes, roughly diced in 2 in cubes
- 1 small/medium onion, diced small
- 1-1 ½ tsp BTB chicken base (better than bouillon)
- salt and pepper, to taste
- garlic powder, to taste
- 2-3 TB butter

DIRECTIONS
- Simmer diced potatoes and onions until tender in chicken stock (enough to cover)
- Add in frozen peas and simmer for approximately 45-60 min or until peas are tender to your liking.
- Enjoy!
