Let’s Protect Our Daughters Not Trade Their Future Away

Child marriage is not love it is a violation of childhood, education, and human rights.
In Somalia, too many young girls are being forced into marriage before they are old enough to understand what marriage truly means. This must stop.

💔 To the People of Somalia:

We know many families marry off their daughters because of poverty, insecurity, or tradition. But marrying a child will never solve those problems it only creates new pain, generations of trauma, and lost dreams.
A girl should be in school, not in a husband’s house. She should be holding books, not babies.
Let’s protect our daughters, not destroy their futures. Let us end this harmful culture that treats girls like property instead of human beings with dreams and rights.

Educate your daughters. Empower your wives. Respect your women.
A strong Somalia begins with educated girls, not broken children.

⚖️ To the Government of Somalia:

The time for silence is over.
The government must strengthen laws to clearly set the marriage age at 18 with no exceptions. Customary and religious loopholes must not be used to destroy young lives.

You must:

Enforce strict penalties against anyone who arranges or approves child marriage.

Provide free education and protection programs for all girls.

Work with religious and community leaders to teach that Islam values justice, protection, and dignity not abuse in the name of culture or religion.

Support poor families so they don’t feel forced to sell their daughters into marriage.


Somalia cannot rise if her daughters are crushed before they grow.

Let’s be the generation that says “No More Child Brides.”
Let’s build a Somalia where every girl can grow, learn, and choose her own destiny.
