God’s justice is never random, and His comfort is never hollow. Nahum reveals that when wickedness ripens to fullness, God answers with righteous judgment, and His people are reminded where true refuge is found.

In the Book of Nahum, Judah is surrounded by fear and oppression as Assyria’s brutal empire dominates the ancient world. Nahum’s message is not a call to panic, but a declaration that evil will not reign forever. Though the modern church often avoids Nahum because of its intensity, this prophecy insists that the God of love is also the God of justice, and He has the final word over every empire, every oppressor, and every enemy of His name.

Pastor Eric Muhly shows how Nahum is ultimately a book of comfort: God is slow to anger, mighty to save, and a stronghold in the day of trouble. Nineveh falls, false gods are exposed, and the people of God are called to trust, endure, and live with eternal perspective, full of joy, passion, and courage.

As followers of Messiah, we are invited to stop measuring life by the strength of earthly kingdoms and start living as those who know forever is real. Nahum reminds us: God knows those who take refuge in Him, and He will bring justice in His perfect time.
