The boat leaves Tobermory at 9:45 am, and it takes 1.5 hours to arrive on Lunga. You get 2 full hours to stay on the island and photograph these cuties, also known as "Clowns of the Sea".
The best times of the year to encounter puffins on Lunga are from mid-April to early August.
We visited in the middle of June and were blessed with a beautiful sunny day.

After Lunga, we went to Staffa to see incredible Fingal's Cave. You get to spend 1 hour there, and then head back to Tobermory and arrive around 4 pm.

Be sure to take snacks and water, as there are none available for purchase.

Hiking boots or sturdy footwear, along with layers are our recommendations.
