A week in the sun At the Elba Lanzarote.
Zexish+dancing on holiday (over 60s if you don’t speak German though another decade might have sneaked in) Elba Lanzarote – 3rd time Jet 2, first one after covid, adults only section, for a much anticipated week. Everything almost back to normal and managed to upgrade though not the room, they are mostly the same except in a different part of the complex so it didn’t make much difference, ideal, all ground floor, own sun beds and really quiet. Made it to the hotel in time to find a bottle of Cava in the room, just the job, a couple of large ones and read the greeting card, Happy Birthday Angela? Sorry Angela I hope you got yours. Straight up to the Mirador to catch the end of the act and a couple of Pino collapsos (Coladas) Entertainment was up to scratch as we hoped and top end bar staff in the Mirador, fabulous night with Venny Pavlova singing and dancing, couldn’t sit down most nights, the guy with the Sax who we thought would be duff was spot on and did some great big band stuff and Erik on the last night really hit all the right notes, only one act not quite up there, think he was a last minute and there was a heavy metal spot at one point which didn’t quite fit, also the Motown act downstairs was right up our street, great music. The adult pool is ideal for relaxing and no hysterical screamers like the ones sat behind us on the plane and that goes for the dads as well. The food is always really good whichever restaurant you eat in, as is the service in reception and the excellent spa. Room quality and cleaning top class and generally all the staff are friendly and very helpful, definitely for you if you like good entertainment, my favourite hotel. Jet 2, the journey home started fine then a bit of the plane fell off before we embarked fortunately so the flight was cancelled and it was a full disaster movie scenario, lots of muttering, groups of people mulling about, but all credit it was handled extremely well, bussed off to a 5star hotel, fabulous room, fed watered and text at 10.00 the next morning to say that the coach would be there at 10.00, much running and head for home.
