After over 2000 Hours across my main and server admin accounts I can confidently say the game is ruined and likely wont survive another year or two unless the developers take action.

Two large issues have ruined this game (and no that is not an exaggeration)

1. The puppet spawn system (encounter manager system) Is no good, and I dont just mean as it stands today (being totally broken) but rather as a concept for SCUM it does not work and will never work.

People play games like SCUM for the immersion. Games like DayZ, Deadside, The Forest etc all do an excellent job of immersing the player in their worlds with crafting, weather systems, building, exploration, food and drink/character management systems. But arguably one of the most important parts to this recipe is the threat of combat with creatures, people or other players.

One thing that these games dont do and would never do (because it doesnt work in an open world survival game) is to spawn enemies in a tight radius around a player just to then despawn them when they leave an area, just to then respawn them continuously in infinity upon re-entering the area. All of these games spawn enemies at a common sense distance (usually a few hundred meters) so that the player can look ahead and make a decision how to proceed. Players cant do this in SCUM because the puppets are only spawned out of sight (though this is broken as well and they frequently pop into existence in front of your eyes) and they spawn far too close to the player and in unnatural and unexpected ways.

You also cannot clear an area to make it safe for exploring and looting because the moment you venture out of these spawn "pockets" (which is what call them because they are way too small) and into another or back into the one you just left, EVERYTHING respawns out of thin air.

This also has had the effect of making ALL optics mostly useless including the newly improved binoculars with variable zoom and this is particularly bad for those who enjoy single player or PVE servers which is a VERY large part of the player base. I used to easily put 20 to 30 hours a week into this game but now after nearly a month im lucky if i even bother booting it up at all (except to address my communities complaints and explain to them that its running as the developers intended)

2.
Cheaters, It is impossible to play on an official server and many community servers without running into rampant cheaters who will fly into your base by fazing through the walls and taking all your loot while simultaneously being invincible and aim boting you. If this has yet to happen to you ... just give it time it most certainly will.

Where does it end ? why are the devs ignoring the feedback about the encounter management system which has been clearly voiced by the community as being something we dont want.
