Heavy Australian Distributed Power Coal Trains - Hunter Valley Ulan Line Coal Trains

Описание к видео Heavy Australian Distributed Power Coal Trains - Hunter Valley Ulan Line Coal Trains

Australia's Hunter Valley region is home to one of the largest export ports in the World for coal, with rail primarily used as the land base transporter from several mines to the port. Large amounts of coal come from the Ulan area, with three mines situated on the western side of Goulburn River National Park mining coal for export via the Port of Newcastle around 215 kilometres east.

The Standard Gauge 1,435 mm (4 ft 8+1⁄2 in) Ulan line (Originally the Sandy Hollow to Gulgong line) is heavily used by three operators, Pacific National, Aurizon & One Rail Australia, to transport thousands of tons daily from Ulan to the Port of Newcastle through the steep and windy ranges via Muswellbrook where the line joins the Main Northern Line.

Distributed Power is seen in use on Pacific National and Aurizon services, with One Rail Australia opting for three lead units. Various locomotives feature including TTs, 90s, 5000s, XRNs & GWUs, hauling lengthy and heavy trains.
