Martha Namugga talks

Martha Namugga and her classmates took part in the 2022 Women in FinTech Hackathon under team E-Track.


This was their very fast Hackathon Experience; a baptism of fire of sorts, as they somewhat struggled to present a working minimum viable product (MVP) at the end. They promised themselves that they would be well equipped and better prepared for the next Hackathon.



When the 2023 Women in FinTech Hackathon was announced, they registered as team FinHub; a saving and credit financial technology solution for University students.


With better preparation, FinHub went all the way to the finals and was eventually announced among the top 7 teams: out of over 30 teams.


But that wasn’t all for Martha. Minus her team performing far better in 2023, compared to its 2022 outing, Martha was voted as the President of the 2023 Women in FinTech Hackathon. It was an open public vote which she swept with a simple majority.


Martha is a software student, swimmer and lover of African culture. She joined Emily Sonia Nakabuye on the 6th episode of Erizon.
