Personal Support Workers: Making a Difference in Long-Term Care

Описание к видео Personal Support Workers: Making a Difference in Long-Term Care

A personal support worker (PSW) contributes to the quality of life of residents living in long-term care. They assist residents with physical needs including dining, personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.), as well as mobility (ambulation, positioning, transferring). PSWs are also a source of emotional support and friendship for those they provide care to. They have the opportunity to get to know the residents they care for, and are responsible for reporting any behavioural or clinical changes they notice. PSWs help residents to live well and with comfort, safety, and dignity.
