• TV is powerful. It certainly sucks in a lot of unwitting minds (mine included) on the regular. Moorpark College film students Mike Rogers and Tom Chartier happened to see an episode of ABC News’ 20/20 back in ’79 on the new music phenomenon known as “new wave” with a nice little chunk dedicated to the vile and extreme faction of it called “punk rock”. Those Sex Pistols and Damned boys really did a number on our student heroes and immediately started a band called The Rotters. Lucky for them they were in media studies so they had free access to a recording studio at the college and plenty of fledgling engineers that needed practice. Talk about right place, right time, damn! They hastily wrote songs and started recorded (within 2 weeks of forming!) them and released 2 singles that same year. With the way record production is working these days that is goddamn miracle! This is the 2nd and more ramped up (albeit less outrageous) of the two singles. I’m told it’s pretty rare…

• “Nigel Nitro and I were a couple of nasty film production students at Moorpark College, just northwest of Los Angeles. We stuck out and didn't fit in. Neither of us wanted to make films with a couple of retarded lovebirds walking on the beach to some lame ass Jim Croce ballad. Our goal was to make vicious, stabbing satires. If people were offended we knew we were on the right track. One night we both saw an episode of 20/20 on the lobotomy box ranting on the evils of this hideous new scourge on society from England called “punk”. It featured live footage of the Damned and the Sex Pistols with subtitles for the lyrics so that the world could see how vile and disgusting they were. They hated it. We loved it. If it pissed them off so much it HAD to be good! It had everything we'd been dying to hear for years and besides, any idiots could do it. That meant us, too.” - Phester Swollen
