The diversity, equity, and inclusion field is still incredibly young, and is far from perfect. Unfortunately, there are many organizations that have been appropriated DEI language to put on a performance of the kinds of values we do want to see from these businesses. 

While listening to this feedback was both painful and funny, it is essential that DEI practitioners stay aware of how our work is or is not helping the people we intend to support.

ABOUT RAHIMEH

Rahimeh Ramezany is a multiethnic, neurodiverse, Muslim American woman, and a diversity, equity, inclusion, and intercultural practitioner. She founded her DEI business in 2021 in order to train organizations on how to include Muslims and religious identity in their existing DEI efforts, while developing nuanced understandings and practical DEI skills that can be applied across identity groups.
