LOG Divine Worship Service 2nd Sunday after Christmas on 1/05/25

Our Worship Service centers on the theme of God's gift of wisdom and understanding, where and how we receive it, and how it is different than worldly wisdom.

We open and close our worship with hymn #410 Within the Father's House. We responsively read Psalm 119:97-104, which is also the text for the Sermon.

Our Old Testament Lesson is 1 Kings 3:1-15 which details Solomon's request for wisdom and why God granted it. Our Epistle Lesson is Ephesians 1:3-14 which detail God's love, care, and desire to provide redemption for all mankind which He purposed from before the foundation of the world. Our Gospel Lesson is Luke 2:40-52 which is the account of 12-year-old Jesus remaining behind in His Father's house to be about His Father's business.

Our Sermon hymn is #589 Speak, O Lord, Your Servant Listens. The Sermon text is Psalm 119:97-104 "AI Christianity vs. Real Christianity" where I lift up God's Word and the faith relationship it creates and maintains as the real source and needed factor for true godly wisdom.

Our Offertory is #895 Now Thank We All Our God. We celebrate the Rite of Installation for our Church Council 2025, and observe the Rite of Recognition for Chrissy Cates regarding her many years of service on the Church Council.
