In this first video in the series on "Plants that are Poisonous to Livestock," Dr. Dennis Hancock, Assoc. Professor and Forage Extension Specialist at UGA, introduces the concept of grazing behavior and the fact that some poisonings are a result of animals being inquisitive about the plants in their vicinity, while other incidences are a result of a lack of forage availability. Dr. Hancock also begins his commentary on several of the more prevalent plants that are poisonous to livestock. In the remainder of this video, he discusses the poisoning that could occur from animals consuming black cherry tree leaves. He also covers symptoms and treatments for other prussic acid poisonings.
