The Wonderland neighborhood of Los Angeles is part of the mountainous Laurel Canyon area in the West Hollywood Hills, known for its seclusion, wildlife, and the renowned Wonderland Avenue Elementary School.

The area initially developed into a celebrity enclave due to its remote nature and proximity to studios during the Golden Age of Hollywood.

In the 1960s, Wonderland became a center for the counterculture movement, with countless prominent folk and rock musicians taking up residency.

By the late 1970s, the neighborhood was besieged with criminal activity, including cocaine distribution, which was controlled by the infamous "Wonderland Gang".

Gang activity came to a head in 1981, when the neighborhood became forever linked to the "Wonderland Murders", which was a grisly quadruple homicide.

The sordid past is all but a distant memory when compared to the picturesque Wonderland of today.
