Pakistan Court Suspends Ex-PM Imran Khan's Sentence in Toshakhana Case | Subscribe to Firstpost

The High Court of Islamabad in Pakistan has suspended the 14-year jail time given to former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana gift case. The court’s Chief Justice Aamer Farooq stated that the appeal against punishment would be fixed after Eid. The two were sentenced in the case by an Islamabad accountability court on January 31, days before the general elections. The case states that Khan “deliberately concealed” the details of the gifts that he received from foreign officials while he served as the country’s prime minister. In 2023 he was sentenced to three years in prison for selling gifts which were more than $501,000.
