Manhattan cover - seeking the Eric Johnson Grail tone!

Eric Johnson's sublime 'Manhattan' has been a pinnacle of guitar for me, ever since I first heard him play it on the G3 concert video. What can I say about Eric's writing, his chord voice-leading, his melodicism, phrasing, ridiculous chops, taste and THAT TONE?

(this isn't an attempt at a note-for-note, pitch-perfect recreation of either Eric's playing, or his tone, but I've always adored both and it's delightful to just try and get some of it under the fingers)
