1st video of turning the LED on Pin13 on and off from a web server.
Installed XAMPP for the web server with a single page with 2 links.
1 to turn on the LED, 1 to turn it off.
When you click ON the web server sends the letter 'a' over the serial connection to the Arduino.
When you click OFF the web server sends the letter 'b' over the serial connection to the Arduino.

The Arduino checks for communication over the serial port (COM4).
If it is an 'a' then turn ON the LED
If it is a 'b' the turn OFF the LED.

*Strangly neither the resistor or cap worked for me, but the circuit worked without either so maybe a bit of trial and error is needed. This is why I believe for a long term solution using the Ethernet Shield may be a more reliable option.

This could be expanded to allow the control of devices over the internet where the only thing the device connecting needs is a web browser. So, a notebook, netbook, table, or smartphone woujd work to control the switching.
