On June 18, 1973, Leonid Brezhnev visited President Richard Nixon in the White House as part of a summit meeting between the United States and Soviet Union. Interpreter Viktor Sukhodrev provided translation between English and Russian. The meeting was captured by recording devices in the Oval Office.

In this conversation segment, President Nixon highlights the necessity of cooperative relations between the United States and the Soviet Union. He emphasizes the transformative nature of the working relationship between he and Brezhnev.
