Cleaning off old Gaskets using CRC Gasket Remover Pro - Car or Motorbike - Tested on Kawasaki F7

When working on old vehicles (motorbikes in my case) you can often find the gaskets stuck on like glue to the engine cases. I use a product from CRC called Gasket Remover Pro to help remove this old gasket material in combination with a Stanley knife blade. Makes this process easy and reduces the risk of damaging the mating surfaces.
I got the CRC Gasket Remover Pro from https://www.motoelectrical.co.uk/crc-...
Unfortunately due to Brexit CRC aren't going to import into the UK anymore as they need to get additional certification or the like on top of the European one they already have. I might have to source from friends in the EU now!

On the Kawasaki F7 in picture, this gasket was well and truly stuck on. When the side case finally came off, the gasket just split in half, with half on the side case and the other half on the engine. Using the remover and leavign for a minute or two, the old welded on gasket just came away, though really stubborn bits around screw holes might need a 2nd going over.

You do have to be a little careful near paint work but I hope you can see from the video how easy it came away. Remember when putting the new gaskets on to use Stag Wellseal and you shouldn't have the problem again though :-)
