At 52, Wangeci does not shy away from openly stating the fact that she never wants to have children, something that some people around her have had a hard time accepting. She first expressed her disinterest in having children when she was 14 years old when she was having a conversation with her grandmother. Somewhere in her 20's she almost had a change of heart and she was open to the idea of getting married and having kids but at 25, both ideas left her mind and never returned. While in her 40's, Wangeci got pregnant but unfortunately lost the child after 2 months and she narrates on this episode of A Woman's Journal, what broke her the most about the loss was not being able to give her parents the grandchild they desired.
