Fringe Group Crosses The Line In Koppal, BJP Government Assures To Look Into The Matter | Times Now

Right-wing organisations have demanded a boycott of Muslim vendors at the Subramanya Swamy temple festival in Bengaluru's VV Puram. On November 29, Vishva Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal submitted a memo outlining the same. In a same vein, Koppal's Anjanadri temple's Hindu Jagran Vedike demanded a ban on non-Hindu commerce. Posters supporting the ban have been placed all over the temple by the group. Non-Hindus being urged to shun Hindu sacred sites on the basis of their commercial activities is not a new phenomenon. On the occasion of the "Hanuman Mala Vrit Visarjana" celebration on Tuesday, Muslims had also set up stores despite the presence of posters calling forbidding non-Hindus from conducting commerce. Even though they have support from the district administration, several non-Hindu traders have moved their stalls away from the shrines and closed their stores in the area of the temple till things calm down. Hindu organisations all around the state have been waging persistent boycott efforts against Muslims in Karnataka.
