Biden Blames Hamas for Ceasefire Delay as War Destroys Gaza | Firstpost America

US President Joe Biden has blamed the Palestinian armed group Hamas for the delay in a ceasefire in Gaza. Biden has said that he does not expect to reach a truce deal for Gaza because his proposal has not been completely embraced by Hamas. This comes just days after Hamas responded to Biden's proposal with amendments. The changes that Hamas wants include Israeli troops pulling out entirely from Gaza and a complete halt to fighting before any exchange of Palestinian prisoners for Israeli hostages. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said that the counterproposal has some unacceptable demands. Meanwhile, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu is yet to accept Biden's proposal publicly.
