EN - The government proposes to make alterations to the Constitution because of the new relations with Indonesia and the West. These alterations have already been accepted in the House of Representatives. As is laid down by law, the Houses of Parliament are dismembered and new elections for a new parliament have to take place. These elections will be held on July 7, 1948. This newsreel gives an impression of the atmosphere before these elections.

NL - De regering stelt voor om de grondwet te wijzigen vanwege de nieuwe betrekkingen met Indonesië en het Westen. Deze wijzigingen zijn reeds in de Tweede Kamer overgenomen. Zoals wettelijk is bepaald, worden de kamers van het parlement opgeheven en moeten er nieuwe verkiezingen voor een nieuw parlement plaatsvinden. Deze verkiezingen worden gehouden op 7 juli 1948. Dit journaal geeft een impressie van de sfeer voorafgaand aan deze verkiezingen.
