In this video, we explore more traditional sound styles on the Volca modular. We recreate the 80s style filter sweep/pwm sweep sound on the VM. We dive into the FM section of the Source, as well as the wave folder. The resulting sound is very different from the usual VM sounds.


As usual, this is all done in one take with no magic or editing. The video quality seems very low - I'll have to see if it is my camera, or the conversion routinge.


Before anyone comments that you can directly create a square using the first function generator - yes you can, but you use most of the components just getting the square, and so I didn't show this one. The "square" we produce uses no wires, or extra modules other than the complex source. This leaves you free to modify the sound further and gives far more flexibility. If anyone wants to know how to make the square using F1, leave a comment and I'll show you how.
