Timney Alpha Trigger for Glock - Failures, Malfunctions, Light Strikes, Modifications, Warranty

EDIT 1 - 07/2022:
Timney currently offers a striker and connector combo that only works with their Alpha kit. Perhaps that might solve the issues but it's an additional 80 bucks over the cost of the Alpha kit. It's up to you if you think the new total cost is worth the hassle. I did install the kit in my buddy's Gen 5 with Alpha that was experiencing light strikes, and the kit did not resolve the light strike issues.

EDIT 2 - 09/16/22:
Timney allegedly has a new Alpha trigger bar out marked with a dimple to help stabilize the trigger bar under travael. It seems to have a higher success rate of working but does not appear to be consistent from the reports I've received.

EDIT 3 - 02/07/23:
Timney has removed the firing pin and connector combo from their site despite the many folks who acquired it as a potential solution, and the Alpha still failed.

This video discusses my experiences with the Timney Alpha Trigger for the Glock platform. Specifically, the Gen 3/4 variant that I used in my USPSA pistol. I also discuss one issue with the Agency Arms trigger.

I forgot to note in the video that during the testing phase I tried swapping the original OEM striker with a new OEM striker and it resulted in the same issues. After I swapped to my OEM slide with all factory internals and still experienced the same issues.

Another follower noted that his was functioning but he was using an aftermarket striker. It's possible that and aftermarket striker or a stronger than OEM striker spring may solve the issue but that goes against Timney's advertisement that this will function with OEM components.

Johnny Glock does have his Omega conversion for carry but that's the same as having a gunsmith correct the issues of the Alpha. That and you're spending more money on top of the trigger to make it work, which is (once again) counter to Timney's advertisement of "no gunsmith needed". It is also important to note that JG did have a discount code with Timney IF you order an Alpha for JG to convert to his Omega. Take that however you want to.
