In Handel's "Rodelinda", a kind of operatic "Game of Thrones" set in the 7th century Lombardy, Samuel Ramey sings the main antagonist Garibaldo, Duke of Turin and the advisor to the usurper Grimoaldo.

This is the second major aria of his character, “Tirannia gli diede il regno” ("Tyranny gave him the kingdom"), in which he reveals his cruel views on power. Ramey masterfully uses the nuances of his incredible voice to convey his character's intensity and ruthless nature through music.
