Goods and Services Tax is an indirect tax used in India on the supply of goods and services.

And you’re liable to pay it if you’re doing business but the interesting part is that you can claim GST you’ve paid for any product or service you’re buying which will be consumed for your business purposes.

For example I’ve bought this MacBook to edit my videos, to upload my videos, or to keep data of of my pre-recorded videos. All these tasks are the part of my business, so when I bought this MacBook, I’ve gave the vendor my GST number and told him to give me the GST invoice. So I can claim that 18% GST which have been levied on this MacBook purchase when I’ll file my GST for that month.

You can also claim GST Credit when you’re buying something online let say from Amazon.
