Quebec Ice Hotel - Hôtel de Glace, Overnight Sleep, Unforgettable Nordic Getaway

Today we are going to share our wonderful experience at Quebec Ice Hotel - Hôtel de Glace.

This Ice hotel is unique in North America. Ice hotel offers majestic snow arches and crystal clear ice sculptures in the Grand Hall, Bar and in different beautiful rooms. It took 50 workers more one month to built the ice hotel. They used 30,000 tons of snow and 500 tons of ice to build it. Every year they make the Ice hotel with new themes and designs. We stayed in the hotel for one night and it was really one-of-a-kind winter experience.

The Ice hotel usually operates from 1st week of january till mid march. You can book a room at their website valcartier.com and also at expedia.ca. The room price starts from 400 dollars to 1000 dollars plus taxes per night, based on the room type and number of guests. The standard rooms get booked fast, so its a good idea to book a room ahead if you want a standard room for your stay. When you book a room for a night in the ICE Hotel, You will also get a room at the Hôtel Valcartier on the same night as your stay at the Ice Hotel to keep your luggage, to have shower, etc. or if you choose not to sleep at the Ice Hotel, you can sleep at hotel Valcartier.

If you do not want to stay for the night, you can have a day tour. The Ice Hotel tour is open from 10am to 8pm. And ticket price per person is 25 to 30 dollars. You can also do ICE tubing and some other winter activities here.

The Ice Hotel is about 35kms which is around 30 minutes drive from Quebec city. We stayed in Ice hotel on Sunday night. The weather was cloudy and it was snowing when we were getting there.
Hotel valcartier and the Ice hotel has big parking lot infront of the hotel. Theres also 3 EV parking spots. So we parked our Tesla at one of the EV parkings spots and go it fully charged overnight.

After we checked-in, we got couple of things from the hotel Reception:
1. A complementary welcome cocktail - or a bottle of champagne
2. Room keys for our room at hotel Valcartier
3. Ice hotel room number
4. And Ice hotel tags or badges which gave us unlimited access to the ICE hotel area.
5. And also a QR code of the Preparation Guide for the overnight stay

As we booked room at the Ice hotel for one night, we got a nice suite at the main hotel Valcartier. The room was beautiful and spacious. We could see the Ice hotel from the window the room.
