Grace Laced with Muscle, and Strength by Gentleness Confined - For Bass recorder by Melika Fitzhugh

Описание к видео Grace Laced with Muscle, and Strength by Gentleness Confined - For Bass recorder by Melika Fitzhugh

This video was recorded for the Women Composers Festival of Hartford.
The piece is by Melika Fitzhugh (her channel is linked at the end of this video), and is part of a loosely associated suite that includes a short solo piece for every size from sopranino through contrabass.
Notes from the composer:
"The title is inspired by a line from the poem “The Horse” by Ronald Duncan, from his collection of the same name.
“Where in this wide world can man find nobility without pride, friendship without envy or beauty without vanity? Here, where grace is laced with muscle, and strength by gentleness confined.”
The entire poem can be found here: http://specialcollectionsarchive.exet... © Ronald Duncan Estate."

The instrument I am playing is a bass recorder by Yamaha.
