The VAC700R has a lot of things going for it - a competitive price, a nice size, good ink capacity, a nice no.6. nib. It is the thinking man's pen if you desire a vacuum filler. The closest competitor I feel is ironically a pen within the TWSBI stable - the Diamond 580ALR - which has the same price at the time of review - USD65. The only downside for the 580, and it's a minor one, is its slightly smaller nib and section design. In terms of which I prefer of the two - it's an easy choice - VAC700R all the way as it's a superior pen.
