Constructed in 1628 as a Chapel of Ease, this site evolved into the parish of Hoole in 1641. Fashioned from Dutch brick, initially employed as ballast in trade ships, the church exudes tranquility, inviting visitors and worshippers alike. Notably, Jeremiah Horrocks, Bible Clerk at St Michael's, forecasted the Transit of Venus in 1639. The church boasts 17th-century woodwork and furniture, along with a finely carved stone font. In the churchyard, ancient stones dating back to the early 1700s grace the surroundings.
