Newsweek Senior Editor-at-Large Josh Hammer has hit out at the Secret Service for its failure to anticipate another assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

Mr Hammer branded the whole situation “disgusting” with the suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, known by authorities.

“Donald Trump spends the vast majority of his time in Palm Beach, Florida, and when he is not in Mar-a-Lago, he’s probably and usually golfing at that very golf club, it’s ten minutes from Mar-a-Lago, it’s his home club,” Mr Hammer told Sky News host Rita Panahi.

“It is inex-freaking-scusable for this to have possibly happened.”
