All these articles were showing up number one or two on Google.

They got caught hard by Google, received a huge penalty.

Forbes is going to fix this. It's existential to their business.

But actually lots of publications do this.

Still, Forbes directly disobeyed Google's guidelines.

Google tells publishers how they can rank for unrelated terms:
Don't use third parties.
Have close editorial oversight.

Google says it in their Site Reputation Abuse policy.

And if you do want to use a third party, then make sure it's not included in Google's index.

Forbes did none of this. The result was devastating.
