Adler SE1000 , non correcting early model.
Adler then produced the SE1000CD, Dual pitch, Correcting model that uses same ribbons as the IBM selectric II. They also switched from an all metal casing to a sturdy plastic case.
This is a customers from California who brought this over for fixin'. Typewriter wouldn't turn on, main belt was dislodged, possibly in moving/shipping jolt because the escapement & tab trigger bars were also jammed & out of place not allowing carrier to move at all. Was able to repair that with out too much disassembly or trouble. Next was the carriage return was virtually dead, resurfaced cork clutch & that helped a lot but still had to adjust the clutch tension spring stronger to get good strong constant return action, a common procedure back in the day. Then came a basic clean & service, its been over 25 years since I had one of these on my bench. This old old Adler is working great now, so I took this video because who knows when I will see another one of these . . . . .
