Hello everyone, MT here with the usual trainspotting action! Here’s a farewell tribute of UK’s recent and underused rail fleet, Transpennine Express ‘Nova 3’ Class68+Mk5a coaching stock.
They along with two other fleets under the Nova brand were introduced to originally replace the Class 185’s, bring an more intercity feel to people’s journey and increase capacity across the transpennine route. However, only a small number of units within the fleet were used on the rail network and were faced with ongoing problems; one of them being dealing with the major backlog of driving training caused by the pandemic and report of cracks under the carriages. Therefore, they were out of passenger service after less than five years. Everything shot here was taken between 2019 to 2023. Hope you all enjoy this and let’s hang our hopes high that we shall see these units again in the near future.
