✈ Trip Review

Hello, Everyone!
I’d like to share a new trip experience with you, flying Olympic Air, which operates for Aegean Airlines, to travel around Greece while staying within the same country! Today’s flight started from Athens Airport, heading to the island of Kefalonia for Easter, and I would highly recommend this small airline. The service was amazing, especially considering it was my first time flying on an ATR 72-600 aircraft. This is why I highly recommend taking routes with Olympic Air when flying to different areas of Greece. This airline is based on Olympic Airways, which used to be the main airline for Greece until it ceased operations in 2009. Now, Aegean and Sky Express have taken over as the main airlines of Greece, with Olympic Air serving as a convenient option for traveling around the country without leaving its borders. We started at Athens Airport, which wasn’t too busy for this time of year, and made our way to Gate B24. The ATR 72 aircraft being used for this flight had to be parked on the other side of the terminal since it is too small to be boarded via jet bridges. For this reason, you need to catch the airport bus to get to the other side and board the aircraft. When boarding, unlike an Airbus, you board via the back steps, and the aircraft has built-in stairs rather than using airport stair trucks. This particular aircraft (SX-OBS) was very modern inside the cabin, as it was brand new at the time. We had no delays while waiting to start the engines and continued straight toward runway 03R. We started cruising at around 17,000 feet over Corinth and into the Peloponnese. I find it nice and reliable to fly with short-distance aircraft such as Olympic Air, as it is quick and easy to get to various places around Greece. Shortly after landing at Kefalonia, be sure to take care when leaving your seat, as the overhead panel is very low in these aircraft, unlike on Airbus planes, and it’s easy to hit your head on the overhead panel. This happens to a lot of people who fly these aircraft, but you just need to be cautious. Overall, the service was excellent, and I would gladly fly on this aircraft again if I take another route around Greece!
Hope you enjoy this video!
