WE'RE BACK! at Double Peak - 2022 Belgian Waffle Ride (BWR) San Diego

The 2022 Belgian Waffle Ride or BWR for short is a 130 mile ish gravel bike race right here in Southern California. To be specific BWR San Diego happens typically in May in North County near and around San Marcos, Ramona, amongst other cities. This race is part of the Tripel Crown of Gravel series that takes place across multiple Belgian Waffle Rides right here in the US.

Last year we headed up to Double Peak to heckle, scream at the top of our lungs, and feed our friends who were on the verge of bonking. This climb is insane and is close to the very end of the ride (mile 129 or something). I believe this year the course was about 40% gravel, so they were much deeper in the pain cave than in 2021.

Our squad loaded up on hand-ups this year and maybe offered up a couple adult beverages to the folks who were up for it.

We appreciate all the riders being so stoked and bringing the energy right back at us.

I know this video and the idea of us being up there in the first place maybe isn't everyone's favorite thing in the world, but nonetheless, for those who did get an ounce of additional stoke or that little boost to get over the hump and back down to the finish line, y'all are AWESOME.
