STALL BOARD VS PASTURE BOARD - WHICH IS RIGHT FOR YOUR HORSE?

Stall board or pasture board, which is right for your horse? When it comes to horse boarding, there's generally two options. You can have either pasture board (sometimes referred to as field board or partial board) or you can have stall board, also known as full board or full care board.

I've personally always been a fan of pasture board for my horses' personal needs, but every situation is different. In most cases, pasture board is just fine for the majority of horses, but if your horse has special care needs or maybe is getting older and needs more calories or protection from bullies, full care or stall board is probably a good choice.

Typically, field board is cheaper than stall board, so you need to think about your budget when deciding on boarding options for your horse too.

Also, what is your horse used to now? It can be REALLY difficult to put a horse that's used to living outside all the time in a stall, and it can be equally stressful to put a stall horse outside without gradually and smoothly making the transition.

In conclusion, there are a lot of things to think about when it comes to choosing either stall board or pasture board for your horse. Each horse and situation is different, and it's ultimately, a personal choice for each equestrian.
