Bomberman World (PS1) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

Описание к видео Bomberman World (PS1) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Atlus and Hudson's 1998 action-puzzle game for the Sony Playstation, Bomberman World.

Played all the way through the single-player story mode.

Now this is a strange one. It's Bomberman and it's played exactly like all of the others with two massive exceptions. First, the view of the board has been tilted just enough that you can no longer always readily see where the flames are going to go when you drop a bomb. It's sheer frustration trying to re-learn what you know from the other games, and it seems as if it's only for the sake of an extraordinarily tacky presentation. My muscle memory has a hard time with the unfamiliar isometric view - it throws me off so badly, even if the gameplay is the same.

The other issue I have with this version are the movement controls. They're really squidgy and loose, and when you can't really tell if you're hidden enough from harm (because of the awful perspective) and you can't get into the right place because Bomberman controls like he suddenly became grandma after eating fiber-enricged bran and fig cereal, well... Okay, maybe that metaphor was a bit gratuitous.

I got a laugh out of the graphics and sounds as a kid, and it's easy one you get it down, but its quirks can so frustrating and unnecessary!

And Hudson developed it. Seriously Hudson? After Saturn Bomberman you do this? WTF?
