A new analysis by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) reveals that traffic, not stubble burning, is the primary driver of daily pollution spikes in Delhi. The report highlights that despite farm fires being at a multi-year low, the capital's air remains 'very poor' to 'severe'. Dwarka Sector 8 recorded the highest number of breaches with 55 days of toxic air, followed by Jahangirpuri and North Campus at 50 days each. The study points to a 'toxic cocktail' of emissions from vehicles and local industries as the baseline cause.
