Introduction to Variables | Landbot

Follow this straightforward tutorial to learn what are variables and how to use them. They allow you to store information that will be saved from each user that goes through the flow of your bot👇

We will divide this video in 4 main sections:

1️⃣ THE DIFFERENT FORMATS VARIABLES CAN BE
String: This is the most flexible type of variable. It is usually used to save a string of characters inside it.
-Number: here you can ONLY store numbers. Use this type if you need to perform math operations later on.
Date: to save dates inside these variables, in the most common Date Formats
Array: An array is a data structure that contains a group of elements. An array variable is very handy if you are a developer or if you want to try out more of our technical features and workarounds.

2️⃣ HOW TO CREATE VARIABLES
The importance of their placement inside the flow because of the information gathered and the different blocks that can contain variables.

3️⃣ A SIMPLE USE CASE WHERE WE USE THEM
A very simple use case, where we can see how the bot stores these variables, to later use them in the conversation flow.

4️⃣ WHY IT’S IMPORTANT TO HAVE UNIQUE VARIABLES
And finally we will oversee how these variables overlap if you do not name them correctly for each question block you have.
