John Wilson's pre-pandemic Proms featuring great movie music and songs from musicals were always a complete sell-out. He invariably assembled a superb orchestra of top-class musicians for his programmes and here is an excellent example of their many talents. It's the ballet sequence from Rodgers and Hart's 1936 musical comedy "On Your Toes." This splendid performance comes from John Wilson's 'Broadway Sound' concert given in London's Royal Albert Hall during the 2012 BBC Proms Season. Note the multi-microphone set-up demonstrating excellent stereo effects!
